LumaWall Get LumaWall

Your desktop,
alive.

This is a wallpaper, playing, right now, at full resolution. Two and a half thousand more are waiting, and not one of them is on your disk.

2,521 wallpapers. All of them moving.

Rain on a bedroom window. A Porsche under sodium light. Deep space, cats, Kyoto in snow. Seventeen categories, every one cut for a Retina display, and more arriving all the time.

Looking is not downloading.

Most wallpaper apps fetch the whole file before they show you a single frame. A 4K loop is thirty megabytes on a good day and five hundred on a bad one, and you paid for all of it to decide you did not want it.

This one is streaming to you now, the same way the app does it.

Quit the app. This keeps going.

macOS renders your wallpaper itself, so LumaWall does not have to stay open to keep your desktop moving. Playlists rotate, schedules switch at sunset, and your laptop goes quiet when the battery does.

Measured on an M4 Pro: a tenth of one percent of one core, under a milliwatt. With the app closed, nothing wakes the processor at all.

And a real Mac app behind it

Native Swift. No web view, no Electron, no account. It follows your appearance, grows with your text size, and every control says its name to VoiceOver.

The parts worth knowing

What keeps arriving

New wallpapers are published to the collection and appear in the app on its next launch. No update to install, no re-purchase, no tier that holds the new ones back.

What it does to your disk

Nothing, until you set a wallpaper. After that there is a limit you choose — 5 GB by default — and LumaWall removes the coldest wallpapers you never saved to stay under it. Anything you saved is never touched.

What it sends

Nothing. Diagnostics are off when you install it, and the app will show you the exact report before you ever turn them on. It never records which wallpapers you choose or what you search for.

What it needs

About 180 MB installed before any wallpaper. A connection to browse, and none at all to keep playing what you already have.
